    Chemical Reactions in P5!

Today all of P5 had a chemical reaction demonstration where we put mentos into a 3 types of Cola to see which one produced the best reaction or geyser. We talked about the method, safety (wearing goggles) and how to make a fair test so that could make a comparison. There certainly was a ‘Wow’ factor as the reaction happened!

We then mixed baking soda with vinegar, which created a chemical reaction to produce carbon dioxide to inflate an attached glove. The children gave many great scientific answers and used great scientific language too.

We all had lots of fun exploring chemical reactions in the sun!
